HEATWAVE 2007
SPECIAL PROJECT

Tour Production by KAPA Productions for Heatwave.

Vieux Farka TourÉ

After two years of sell-out concerts, Heatwave presents the boldest and most adventurous
musical dates of 2007, a summit between Vieux Farka Touré’s Timbuktu grooves and
ZEEP’s Copacabana cool on a 10-night tour beginning November 15.

VIEUX FARKA TOURÉ is one of the hottest talents on the contemporary music
scene. Son of the late maestro and two-time Grammy Award-winner Ali Farka Touré, his music heralds a new generation of Malian desert blues.

A highly talented guitarist, singer, songwriter and percussionist, Vieux has inherited the musical genius of his father and used it to create his own unique style.

Zeep

ZEEP are the new band from Nina Miranda and Chris Franck. Imagine Led Zeppelin, The Meters, Joni Mitchell and The Beatles jamming in Brazil with Tropicalistas such as Gilberto Gil & Os Mutantes.

Their previous bands, Da Lata and Smoke City, were two of the biggest selling world-music acts of the last decade collaborating with artists such as Tony Allen, Baaba Maal, Bebel Gilberto and Femi Kuti.
